Your CR form is valid for 1 year. Registration fee is £55 non members and £39 for members.

If you come to the course without a CR form you will be unable to take part in the assessment and will forfeit your course fee.

The course is available as a boat based or bank based option. Those wishing to be boat based Level 1 Coaches will be required to have completed:

  • Foundation Safety and Rescue Training

  • 2 Star in Canoe and Kayak

Turn up on the first day of the course with:

  • BCU FSRT and BCU 2 Star Certificate

The course prepares coaches, for running taster sessions, coaching introductory core skills, coaching paddlers in a variety of craft and coaching in sheltered and very sheltered water conditions, normally with the support of a more qualified coach.

The programme is designed our four intensive days to develop your ability to plan, deliver and review safe, ethical, effective, paddling sessions. The course will cover ‘how to coach’ skills alongside technical understanding of ‘what to coach’, specifically relating to the skills that beginners need.
